Our mission is to provide a positive economic impact for Muskingum County and our region, by providing intensive services and support to entrepreneurs in order to improve their chances for success and rate of growth.
MCBI came to Zanesville in 2004, thanks to the vision of Larry Triplett, chairman of the board and president of Resource Systems in New Concord, Tom Poorman, president of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce, Randy Cochrane, Director of Muskingum Co. Jobs and Family Services, and Gary Lambert, executive director of the incubator committee. Thanks to Bob Kessler, owner of the Heritage Suites building on Fifth Street, MCBI opened the doors to its very own office space at 56 N. Fifth Street in 2005. Carol Humphreys joined MCBI as the Executive Director.
Since then, MCBI has helped more than 100 businesses jumpstart their success and directed over 1000 inquiries to the appropriate community resource. In 2010, outgrowing its current location, MCBI began planning a move in partnership with the Muskingum County Commissioners. In August of 2011 MCBI took a big leap forward and moved to 2725 Pinkerton Road Zanesville.
MCBI's new home consists of 55,000 square feet. In partnership with the Muskingum County Commissioners, MCBI recieved almost $2M in Stimulus Grant Funding to complete an energy efficient renovation, making this location a model building for future state and local energy efficient renovation projects. The new location has beautifully remodeled office space for MCBI staff and existing and new clients, while also leaving room for the future growth.
